The Telegraph reports that researchers at Granada University in Spain claim to have found that beer can help rehydrate better after a workout rather than drinking water, or Gatorade. Professor Manuel Garzon also claimed the carbonation in beer helps to alleviate thirst and its carbohydrate content could help replenish lost calories.
In a conference with the press, at a press conference, Professor Garzon declared that the hydration effect experienced by those who drank beer did “slightly better.”
A cardiologist with the Real Madrid football team, Dr. Juan Antonio Corbalan, told the Telegraph the newspaper that he’s recommended drinking barley to professional athletes after exhausting activities.
